2015 USS U.S. Grant Reunion Cruise
Nov 5th to Nov 12th
Holland America Cruise Ship Veendam
San Diego, California

USS U.S. Grant Shipmates and their guests boarded the
Holland America Cruise Ship "Veendam" on Thursday, Nov 5th.
The Ship was underway that evening bound
for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The ship arrived at Cabo San Lucas on Saturday
and passengers had most of the day
to explore, take excursions, and otherwise relax.
Underway again on Saturday evening, the 
ship docked early Sunday in 
Mazatlan, Mexico.
Passengers spent the entire day sightseeing.
Underway late Sunday evening, sailing to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.
Ship docked early Monday, and another day of relaxation began.
The Crew of the Grant and their guests
spent the next several days at sea talking, sun bathing, laughing, and catching up with old friends as well as new ones.
The Cruise Ship returned to San Diego, CA 
early Thursday.  It was a fun filled cruise
with everyone wishing it would last another day.
All said their farewells and began looking 
forward to the next reunion in New Orleans in 2017.

Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas, a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California pennisula, is known for its beaches, water-based activities and nightlife.  Playa El Medano is Cabo's main beach, with outdoor restaurants and numerous bars.  Past the marina is Land's End promoritory, site of Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) and El Arco, a natural archway in the seacliffs.

Mazatlan

Mazatlan is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa.  Sandy beaches line its 21km-long malecon (boardwalk), and its harbor is renowned for big-game fishing.  In its historic center, 19th-centroy landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Angela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception basilica. The modern distric of Zona Dorado is known for its nightlif and high-rise hotels.

Puerta Vallarta

Puerta Vallarta is a resort town on Mexico's Pacific coast, known for its beaches, water sports and robust nightlife scene.  Its historic, cobbestoned center is home to the ornate church Nuestra Senora de Gualaupe, boutiques and wide range of restrarants and bars.  El Malecon, a beachside promenade with contemporary sculptures, as well as bars, lounges and nightclubs, becomes lively in the evenings.
